VIPER is a three-dimensional magnetic position measurement system that utilizes magnetism.
VIPER is a three-dimensional magnetic position measurement system that utilizes magnetism. The system consists of a source (TX-2) that generates the magnetic field, a sensor (RX-2), and a control unit (SEU) that manages these components, enabling detection in six degrees of freedom. Unlike other systems (optical, ultrasonic, camera-based), the magnetic system provides measurement data in real-time without being affected by physical obstacles (blind spots). In addition to its compact and lightweight body, it achieves the highest accuracy in POLHEMUS's product history and an astonishing sampling rate comparable to high-speed cameras at a low cost. Furthermore, a new function has been added to alleviate magnetic field distortion caused by the presence of metal in the measurement environment, which has been a weak point of magnetic sensors. VIPER proposes operations in a wide range of new fields where the use of magnetic sensors has been challenging until now.
